In August, my family and I went on our yearly trip to Door County. Door County is a thin strip in Northeastern Wisconsin with many little towns, parks, and beaches. We usually stay in Ellison Bay, so we visited Ellison Bluff State Natural Area for a hike in the woods! The park is located on the shoreline of Green Bay, which presented a nice view of the water.

There’s a nice trail under 2 miles long that winds through the park. We started by going south on the trail and followed it until we arrived on the opposite side of the parking lot! It’s a short loop that’s kid-friendly. My sister and brother in-law have two kids under 3 years old, so it was the perfect distance for them!

I saw a few runners on the trail. You can do the loop a couple of times to get to whatever distance you need! Overall, the trail was not crowded when we went (middle of the day in August) so it’s a nice, peaceful hike. We also saw a few tipis! Highly recommend checking it out if you’re near Ellison Bay or Sister Bay.
